Everest Base Camp Trek from Lukla
About This Experience
Unlike the Kathmandu-based itineraries on this site, this trek picks up where the flight leaves off: your guide meets you directly at Lukla Airport, and the Kathmandu-Lukla flight itself is booked separately. From Lukla, the route follows the Khumbu Valley through Phakding and up to Namche Bazaar (3,440m), the Sherpa region's trading hub, with a rest day built in to acclimatize.
The trail continues through rhododendron and pine forest to Tengboche Monastery, then drops into the valley toward Dingboche (4,410m) beneath views of Ama Dablam, Everest, and Lhotse — with a second acclimatization day scheduled here before the push higher.
From Dingboche, the route climbs through increasingly barren terrain via Lobuche to Gorak Shep, the final stop before Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and the close-up views of the Khumbu Icefall that come with it. A pre-dawn hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m) the next morning is typically the visual high point of the trip, before the multi-day walk back to Lukla.

Our Everest Base Camp trek with Peregrine Treks was absolutely brilliant! The adventure kicked off right from landing at the Lukla airstrip – such a buzz.
