Kathmandu: 14-Day Everest Base Camp with Kala Patthar Trek

About This Experience
This 14-day itinerary covers the same core Everest Base Camp route as the 12-day version, with extra days built in for a gentler acclimatization pace and a buffer against Lukla's often weather-delayed flights. After a Kathmandu hotel night, the trek flies to Lukla and works up through Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m), with a full rest day scheduled there.
From Namche, the route continues through Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m) — with a second acclimatization day — and on through Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,170m), the final stop before the walk to Everest Base Camp (5,364m).
The following morning's hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m) delivers the clearest view of Everest's summit on the whole trek, before a multi-day descent back through the same villages to Lukla, with two extra nights in Kathmandu at the end to allow for any flight delays before your international departure.

Amazing challenge for medium to advanced trekkers and mountain lovers! The views are incredible throughout the days and you really have time to remember the shapes as they stays with you for couple of days at the time. We enjoyed the experience with the mountain guide, he was respectful of times and spaces, really friendly and careful with us for everything that we needed. As personal experience we highly recommend it, however it is not an easy trek as the altitude is playing a huge role and even though the gain per day is not great the effort is big.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does this itinerary take 14 days instead of 12?
The extra days build in more gradual acclimatization and buffer time around the Lukla flights, which are frequently weather-delayed — a longer schedule reduces the risk of missing your return flight home.
Does this trek include the Kala Patthar summit?
Yes — after reaching Everest Base Camp (5,364m) you hike up to Kala Patthar (5,545m), the classic sunrise viewpoint that gives the clearest unobstructed view of Everest's summit itself.
